I was reading in a book today and it was talking about miracles. While walking to my class I began to think of all the small things in my life that are miracles. Luckily today was a day full of amazing things.
Today is the one week marker for my best friend and boyfriend, Logan, who left on an LDS Mission for a two year period of time. One week ago I was devastated. In my mind I thought that all time had stopped in it's tracks, that the two years would never be over. Just the fact that a week has past brings joy to my heart. Time never stops and surely the two years will one day be over. Time is my new favorite miracle.
The miracles only continued when I checked my email during class and received the first word from Logan since he left. It was just a short email, but it made me smile so big and gave me hope. Hope is an amazing miracle. I am so so so lucky to know him. It is a miracle all the events that led us to meeting and becoming friends and falling in love. It's a miracle that our love only grew from there.
The one miracle that seemed the greatest to me, may not even be a miracle to other people, but it was my inspiration for this blog, so in that it is noteworthy. I had a final today that I had been cramming for for the 24 hours. No matter how hard I was studying, nothing seemed to stick in my brain. I already had an average grade in the class and if I failed this final I would need to take the class again. At the end of the test I set the test down frustrated and decided to just turn it in and pray that it was high enough for a passing grade. I had honestly guessed on half the questions. As I walked out of the testing center I looked at the screen ready to cringe at the score. But I didn't cringe I was left speechless. I had a high B+. My prayer was not only answered but it was answered enough that it raised my grade a ton, giving me a B in the class. That is truly a miracle. I am still in shock.
So I know this first entry is long, but if you get anything out of it, I hope you realize to look around and find the small and simple miracles in everyday life. If you notice something, even just the passing of the day or a friendly smile post your miracle. It's the stories that connect us all together.
Another miracle is that you walked from the Merriott Center to you apartment late and made it safely. Thank you!
